The Safety & Risk Management Coordinator will work at the ESG Operations, Inc. Corporate Office in Macon, GA under the direction of our Corporate Safety and Technical Services Director.  You will manage occupational injury and property damage claims; conduct field safety inspections; conduct safety training and be integral in the implementation of ESG Corporate Safety policies.  We are looking for you to be able to travel at least 50% of the time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Receive, compile, analyze, interpret and manage occupational injury and property damage incident reports and claims.
  • Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to assess physical conditions and safe work practices
  • Assist with the development of controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control systems, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improvement toward elimination of work place accidents and injuries
  • Assist in conducting training for new and existing employees
  • Self-starter yet able to take direction


  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations regarding occupational health and safety
  • Ability to investigate and report on-the-job accidents and work-related incidents.
  • Ability to identify unsafe working conditions and practices through on-site inspections.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and apply technical information, e.g. laws, standards, regulations, and policies relating to occupational health and safety.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Analyze problems; apply logic; identify alternative solutions; project consequences of proposed actions and recommend/implement effective solutions in support of stated goals and objectives and/or recommendations.


  • Associates degree or higher preferred but will accept experience in leu of degree
  • 3 years of experience in safety and risk management
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Willing to work in both a professional office and utility setting
  • Required travel – up to 50%
