ESG Donates Football Helmets to South Georgia Pop Warner Football League

ESG recently donated 25 football helmets to the South Georgia Pop Warner Football League. This football program was established in 2012 and is composed of four teams with a total of 100 young athletes ages 5 – 12. This program teaches these young athletes much more than the game of football. The coaches and staff members also serve as mentors, and they work diligently to instill in these kids the value of teamwork, doing well in school, putting forth your best effort in everything you do, and fundamental work ethics. Many of the kids in the program come from single-parent households, or they are being raised by their grandparents or foster care.

“We had 25 kids already practicing and looking forward to playing football this season, but due to financial constraints, their parents or guardians were unable to provide their child a football helmet. Our program was not in a position this year to self-fund this expense, and ESG’s generous donation made these young athletes’ wishes come true. Thank you so much ESG. Your support means a lot to our program, and you have been a real blessing to our kids and community,” stated Jeremy Meads, Vice President of the South Georgia Pop Warner Association.

“I would like to thank ESG Associate Sandy Knighton for making ESG aware of the South Georgia Pop Warner Football Leagues’ urgent need and for serving as a coach and mentor in this important program. After speaking with the program’s Vice President, ESG learned that the Pop Warner and High School football programs are one of the pillars of Moultrie’s community—producing numerous college scholarships. ESG is grateful for the opportunity to help 25 young athletes better position themselves for the future,” commented Tony Johnson, ESG Vice President, Community and Government Affairs.
