ESG Partners With Central Georgia Autism for 5th Straight Year

Posted on May 05, 2017 at 0:00 AM

On Saturday, May 6, cyclists from across the Southeast will convene in Macon, Georgia to participate in the 5th Annual Journey for Autism Century Ride. ESG Operations, Inc. is proud to partner with Central Georgia Autism as the presenting partner for this year’s event.

The 5th Annual Journey for Autism begins at Sandy Beach Park on Lake Tobesofkee at 8:00 a.m. This event is designed for the whole family and includes food, a 1 mile Fun Ride for kids, and a bike giveaway by Bike Tech of Macon. Cyclists choose from four course routes—22 miles, 33 miles, 66 miles or 100 miles. Routes wind throughout the outskirts of Lake Tobesofkee, covering three Georgia counties.

All proceeds from this annual event benefit Central Georgia Autism’s scholarship program, workshops and family events. Central Georgia Autism scholarships provide any type of medical treatment, therapies, specialized camps and iPad communication for children diagnosed with autism. Funds raised each year through the Journey for Autism greatly impact families.

“As we enjoy our 5th year of bringing the Journey for Autism Century Ride to the middle Georgia community, an event of this size and most importantly, “the cause” would not be possible without our presenting sponsor—ESG Operations, Inc. The many months of preparation and planning to make this 100 mile cycling event successful has strategically been supported by ESG, from map layouts to loading equipment the day before our event. ESG has assisted us from day one, five years going strong! Their support of this event and for our program shows a deep care for the community and the families of those having a child with autism. To the ESG Operations family, we thank you for being our Community Partner in bringing this successful event to our area in raising Autism Awareness, drawing in cyclists from all over the Southeast, and “being the bridge” so that a child with autism can thrive,” stated Janet Ward, co-founder of Central Georgia Autism.

“ESG Operations, Inc. is honored to be the presenting sponsor for the 2017 Journey for Autism. For the past 5 years, ESG has been privileged to participate in this great event which brings together cyclists and families from across the state of Georgia and surrounding areas. Proceeds from our Century Ride have enabled Central Georgia Autism to provide over $50,000 in scholarships for children and families affected by autism. We look forward to joining with our other sponsors in this weekend’s Journey for Autism,” commented John Eddlemon, ESG Senior Vice President and Partner.
