CITY OF PERRY, GEORGIA FACILITIES EARN OUTSTANDING INDUSTRY RECOGNITIONS
MARCH 16, 2020
ESG Operations, Inc. is excited to announce that ESG/Perry, Georgia facilities have been recognized with three awards for outstanding industry achievements.
WEF GEORGE W. BURKE, JR. FACILITY SAFETY AWARD
This award is presented annually by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) to a municipal or industrial wastewater facility in recognition for establishing and maintaining an active and effective Safety program. The award, established in 1982, serves to encourage active and effective Safety programs for the water environment field, and to recognize entities that not only invest their resources to develop high quality Safety programs and adopt them within their own culture, but also actively seek out opportunities to share these programs with others in the water industry for the benefit of all. ESG/Perry is the only city in the State of Georgia to be presented with this prestigious award.
GAWWA BEST TASTING DRINKING WATER — DISTRICT V
The Georgia Section of the American Water Works Association (GAWWA) holds annual competitions to determine the best tasting tap water in the State of Georgia. The City of Perry was declared the winner in District V for the second year in a row. “To win this award out of literally hundreds of cities across the State of Georgia is quite an honor. We feel very blessed to be recognized for all the hard work that goes into producing a product of which our citizens can be proud. ESG’s Team Perry strives each day to go above and beyond, and this award is evidence of their hard work and commitment to excellence,” commented Travis Falcione, ESG/Perry Project Manager.
GAWP PLATINUM COLLECTION SYSTEM OF THE YEAR AWARD
A Platinum Award recognizes utilities that strive to continually improve their systems through proper management, maintenance, and operation. To obtain a Platinum Award a utility must first obtain the Gold Award, which is given to utilities receiving a score of 95% or higher during annual inspection by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP). After a system has achieved Gold Level for five (5) consecutive years, a Platinum Award is presented in recognition of system excellence.
